Midday Modeler 03.16.2022 — In this week’s Midday Modeler episode, David Popp hosts from Studio B at Kalmbach Media.

This week, Gerry Leone and Seth Puffer appear LIVE via remote from Minnesota to show off their depot dash kitbash challenge projects. In house, David has his project to show off while Jenny, Steve, and Nastassia update the audience on their own individual progress on their kitbash projects.

Vince and Ben man the cameras and controls for Midday Modeler 03.16.2022.

The kitbash challenge this year features N scale and HO scale models from Walthers. The models are based on a Union Pacific depot prototype.

Midday Modeler is a new, regular video segment, recorded live and unscripted at Kalmbach Media beginning in February 2022.

The segment features Kalmbach Media staff modeling and talking about model railroads in a casual format. It is unscripted and broadcast live via Facebook on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. Central time each week. Anyone who sees the video on Facebook can comment and ask questions, or just say “hi!”.

Shortly after the Facebook live stream, the video is taken down from Facebook and posted to Trains.com where it is available only to Model Railroader Video Plus members and Trains.com Unlimited Members.

  1. Great episode of the kitbash contest guys. Great idea by Jenny to turn the walls around to mount the stone sheets on the smooth surface giving her a classic wood interior and that is a great gas station by Gerry (we have one of those here in town still upright). I like your station David, classic design. Great work by everyone, thanks for sharing your talents.

  2. For the next Kit bashing contest why not get the folks at Fine Scale Modeller involved as well it would be interesting to see what they would come up. After all they’re modelers, too.

  3. I’m really enjoying these Midday Modeler episodes. Especially the kitbash challenge. Kudos to everyone’s efforts so far. Can’t wait to see the finished projects. Thank you.
