EAST TROY, Wis. — The East Troy Railroad Museum recently announced a $10,000 donation from the Canadian National Railway’s Community Giving Program. The funding will support vital infrastructure improvements, specifically the replacement of wooden ties along the museum’s main line between East Troy and Mukwonago, Wis.
“This 7-mile line is the last remnant of an electrified interurban rail network that once stretched from Sheboygan through Milwaukee to Watertown, East Troy, and Kenosha,” said museum President Ward Komorowski. “Some of the line still consists of the original track laid by The Milwaukee Electric Railroad and Light Company (TMERL) in 1907.
“These funds will be used for upkeep on our right-of-way to continue to keep our passengers and volunteers safe for many years to come.”
Komorowski and the East Troy Railroad Museum both noted they are appreciative of the partnership and support from CN.
