OTTAWA — Canada’s Minister of Transport, Omar Alghabra, has reappointed five members of the VIA Rail Canada board of directors.
Reappointed were chairwoman Francoise Bertrand of Montreal, for a term of 18 months; directors Jonathan Franklin Goldbloom (Montreal) and Gail Louise Stephens (Victoria, British Columbia), for four-year terms; Naella-Kathy Baig of Montreal, for three years; and H. Glenn Rainbird (Belleville, Ontario) for two years.
They are part of a 13-member board, including VIA CEO Cynthia Garneau. Bertrand has been board chair since spring 2017; the others joined the board in June 2017.
More information on the board members is available at this page on VIA’s website.
Four from the Toronto -Montreal corridor, one from the rest of Canada.
Fair point, yet looking at the whole 13 member board, it seems about 5 of them are from outside Ontario-Quebec Corridor.
