Government of Canada logoOTTAWA, Ontario — Following up on a policy announced in August, the Government of Canada has announced COVID-19 vaccinations will be required for passengers on VIA Rail Canada and Rocky Mountaineer trains, as well as those departing from Canadian airports, effective Oct. 30.

There will also be a transition period when travelers in the process of being vaccinated can travel if they can show a COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of travel, but that period will end Nov. 30.

Details are available in this Transport Canada news release.

The government announced on Aug. 13 that it would require employers in the federally regulated air, rail, and marine transportation industries to set vaccination policies for employees, and would require vaccinations for many passengers [see “Canada to require COVID-19 vaccinations …,” Trains News Wire, Aug. 16, 2021]. Canadian National announced its vaccination plans the following month [see “CN announces vaccination requirement for Canadian employees,” News Wire, Sept. 8, 2021].

  1. A well-written comment, Charles. I’m Catholic too. In Article 1 of the Constitution, we are guaranteed free exercise of religion. But now government and Big Business are judging if your convictions are sincere, which has a hint of merit but a whole lot of nonsense. Also, the Constitution doesn’t say that a person’s rights can be denied based on vaccination status. Based on HIPAA, it’s my business; go mind your own.

I’m not vaccinated, not because I’m against the science, but because the vaccines produced deserve much suspicion; Black Americans know this. Wasn’t it a year ago that the government and media were clamoring for Black rights? But now they’re forced to take a vaccine they don’t trust?? Just another example of wicked people using Black people for their own purposes. Back to my point. There is a staggering correlation between autism, allergies and previous vaccines. After these current vaccinations, at least 15,000 have died, about 66,000 have been hospitalized, and around 700,000 have had adverse effects. This is based on the CDC’s VAERS database, which has been found to only receive 1% of actual adverse events. This is greatly due to doctors not filing federally mandated reports, as a government nurse recently revealed to Project Veritas. You think I’m lying? I promise you I’m not, but Pfizer has been. Project Veritas recently exposed that Pfizer HAS been using fetal cells in their shots, despite them denying it.

If the “vaccine” works, the vaccinated are protected from the virus, whether it comes from the unvaccinated, a dog, or a papaya. Don’t buy the malarkey that the unvaccinated will get you sick. That thinking is as flawed as the Nazis blaming the Jews for every misfortune, and will be used for the same purpose despite the evidence. If you do get seriously sick, like 66,000 vaccinated have, then the “vaccine” must not work, the media is lying, and there’s no reason to get it.

Stop pulling the Grandma or charity card. Cuomo certainly didn’t care about her when he put infected people into her nursing home. Plus, Grandma can now get vaccinated. As for charity, who tells us to love our neighbor? God. If he exists, then there’s a lot more for us to do than get vaccinated.

  2. It is a shame that I can’t take my kids with me on a trip as the FDA hasn’t approved a vaccine for them yet.

    1. Daryl, the FDA hasn’t approved any vaccines in use. A Pfizer vaccine was approved, but they didn’t tell you that the Comernity vaccine was approved, not the Bio-N-Tech that is in the field. That’s still under EUA. Here’s where things get wacky. The Comernity vaccine hasn’t ever been made, which means the FDA approved a vaccine they’ve never tested. But since it has full authorization, Pfizer has no legal immunity, so of course you won’t be seeing it until they can somehow have immunity.

As for children, it has been found that children aren’t very vulnerable to the virus. Due to their youth, the virus can’t attack them as well as an adult. With regards to transmission, there was a study conducted where several infected children were allowed to mingle with adults and children at different schools, yet no one else became sick.

  3. Pretty soon, unless you are vaccinated you won’t be able to do anything except stay home. And, that is a good thing!

    1. I’m vaccinated against polio, influenza, tetanus, shingles, pneumonia and COVID – so I think that qualifies me as pro-vaxx. Even so I’m having a problem with vaccine mandates. There are many reasons why people resist the COVID vaccine. Some of these reasons ridiculous, some of them plausible. Some people claim they have natural immunity, some say the vaccine is ineffective, some say it’s harmful — and I know people who say all three. Not being a doctor I don’t try to argue. My advice would have no weight, nor should it.

Then there are the medical exemptions and the religious exemptions. In the United States, there is no definition of religion. Whatever one believes is his religion or her religion. I’m Catholic. Someone else worships Gaia, someone else is Jewish, some are Rastafarian, someone else worships pink sunsets … under United States law all these religions are co-equal. So in effect, anyone who doesn’t want to be vaccinated can claim a religious exemption.

It’s all unworkable. I think we need to leave all this to individual choice, because in the end, that’s what’s going to happen.
