Tickets go on sale Monday for May 10, 2019 150th anniversary event NEWSWIRE

Tickets go on sale Monday for May 10, 2019 transcontinental railroad anniversary events.

PROMONTORY SUMMIT, Utah — Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. mountain time Feb. 4 for 150th anniversary events at the Golden Spike National Historic Site on May 10, 2019. Participants can pay $20 per car that are good for the three-day festival that starts on the anniversary day, a Friday, and continues through Sunday. No other fees will be charged. Tickets will only be sold in advance and online, according to Spike 150 the coordinating organization for the celebration.

Presidential historian Jon Meacham will deliver the keynote address, and the musical “As One” will be presented on May 10. Organizers expect 50,000 visitors over the three-day weekend.

The schedule for that day looks like this:
8 a.m. Golden Spike National Historic Site Opens to the Public
8:15 a.m. Jupiter and No. 119 Replica Steam Engines Arrive
11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Sesquicentennial Celebration Ceremony, Keynote Address & As One Performance
1:30 – 7 p.m., Spike 150 Festival: music, performances, storytelling, historical reenactments, locomotive demonstrations, frontier village, innovation summit, re-enactments

May 11 schedule:
9 a.m.- 7 p.m. Spike 150 Celebration Festival: music, performances, storytelling, historical reenactments, locomotive demonstrations, frontier village, innovation summit, re-enactments

May 12 schedule:
9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Spike 150 Celebration Festival: music, performances, storytelling, historical reenactments, locomotive demonstrations, frontier village, innovation summit, re-enactments

  1. I wish there would have been an announcement about the first group of tickets that was MORE PROMINENT! I just stumbled across this information today 3/12. Did not see anything about tickets on the Spike 150 site! Sheesh!
