With design issues behind him, Gerry begins building the components of a four-turn helix. Even though math is involved in this stage, our host is up to the task. And he’s clever enough to use and share a number of helpful resources that make the process easy to understand and follow.
Back on Track: Helix construction prep work, Episode 4
Hey Gerry, I’m so jealous of your new property…well not really. I too just moved to a 10 acre wooded property and love every minute of the scenery and peace and quiet also.
Congratulations and enjoy!!!!!

Thanks for sharing Gerry. I really enjoy this series and love that you share a little bit of detail of the area you moved to. Growing up in the rural area near Duluth, I can relate to the desire to move away from the city. Keep up the great work.
Rick — Indeed I was! We lived in a townhouse for 6 months while the house was being built. And I figured I’d make hay (or helix) while the sun shone.
Thanks Gerry, Very glad for you that you can start building your new layout. Thank you for all of the instruction and information. The land on which you and your wife built the new house is excellent. I wish you and your wife all of the happiness possible. I am anxious to view the next episode. Jerry Ryan
Thanks Gerry, you have a beautiful place, look like you were cutting out the Helix parts in a driveway in a subdivision.
Know what your area looks like from spending my last 6 months of Army life at a detachment on Snelling AirForce base. Living the dream for real.
Only bad part is the state bird, the mosquito!
Thanks for comments, everyone!
Jim — interesting idea. I’ll consider it!
Rollin — I didn’t know where the heck they went! But they’re back here again now and have a nest somewhere very close to where I was standing in that video!
Gerry, those majestic Sandhill cranes spend their winters down here in Florida. We’ve been watching a pair of them raise chicks for the last month or so. They grow so fast.
I love Gerry’s sense of humor – this is definitely one of the most enjoyable series you have here. Please make it easier to find these videos by linking them all into a single series.

I’m loving this series. And moving to the country, as you say, was a no-brainer. You are livin’ the dream. Good luck to you.
