excellent video as always a pleasure to watch, although i wonder are those eteam engines
Always a treat to watch the Steam Loco’s. Thank You.
Thank you for the great B&O video. Lovely to see these beautiful engines at work.
this was great the last in service steam I saw was a big B&O mike running east on the Ohio river with a string of coal. In the mid fifty’s just west of Moundsville WV.
The B&O Belpaire firebox was from that brief period where Pennsy had stock control of the B&O originally built as class E-24 2-8-0s some were later rebuilt as L1a 0-8-0s.
A mix of Boxpox and spoke drivers was not uncommon in later years.
always enjoy seeing steam in action. I never noticed steamers having different style drivers like the 5303 at the 3;30 mark.
Video won’t play.
Since I am living near Deshler the old steam engine look mighty fine. Thanks.
I’m 73, great to see things from my youth, again. That’s about the only place they exist: on film. Thanks for the memories.
interesting to see Belpair firebox on the switcher.
Good views of Ohio steam action on the B&O.
Great to see Big-6 again. In hometown Brunswick, MD. they were everywhere – beautiful engine –
straight boiler-short stack-huge Vanderbilt tender, and the bell @ 11 O’clock says – “Get out of my
way – I’m gonna kick ass.”
The mix of driver styles on that Pacific wasn’t common practice was it?
That switcher is sure well-maintained. No wonder they got 50+ years out of her.
Wondeful story/fantastic story about B&O steam!
