Tune in to our webcam live from Thomasville, N.C., on Saturday, Oct. 4 for the city’s first railfan and railroad appreciation day.

Join us trackside on the busy Norfolk Southern main line to watch freight action as well as Amtrak and N.C. Department of Transportation trains.

At the event, the city will present the 2015 Thomasville Train Calendar and award prizes to the winning photographers. There will be drawings for prizes from Trains magazine, Norfolk Southern Corp., and Amtrak.

Thomasville is located between Charlotte and Greensboro, N.C., and features more than 40 trains per day with great photo locations.

The visitor’s center is located in one of the oldest depots in the state, built about 1870, and features parking, restrooms, and a 40-inch monitor with ATCS to help anticipate train traffic.
