PORTOLA, Calif. — The Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola will host a fundraising dinner on April 8 as part of a visit by Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boy No. 4014.

The dinner will feature a presentation by Ed Dickens, senior manager of heritage operations at UP. Tickets, priced at $100, are available here and benefit the museum. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with a buffet dinner served at 7 p.m.

The dinner will follow exhibition of the Big Boy at the museum during the day. Museum admission is required for that event, to be held from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Adult admission is $20 and is available here; discounted admission of $10, for ages 5-18, 65 and older, and military members, is available here. Those ordering online should print out their receipt, which will serve as their ticket.
