Truck driver killed, train passenger injured in Metrolink grade-crossing collision

MOORPARK, Calif. — The driver of the truck was killed and one train passenger was injured as a Metrolink train collided with a semi truck near Moorpark today (June 25, 2025), KABC-TV reports.

The collision occurred shortly after 2 p.m. at a private crossing near Los Angeles Avenue and Montair Drive, between Metrolink’s Camarillo and Moorpark stations on the Ventura County line. The passenger, one of 11 onboard train No. 118, suffered a minor injury.

Metrolink’s website reports the tracks remain closed between Camarillo and Moorpark as of 5 p.m. PT. At least one Pacific Surfliner train (No. 784, Goleta-San Diego) has also been delayed as a result.

  1. Note that just hours before, Metrolink train 114 struck a person at a railroad crossing between the Northridge and Van Nuys stations… The crash at 12:45 p.m. required the individiual to be transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

  2. 11 Passengers seems to be a small number looking at the pictured train. Was this train either just beginning its run or just about to end its run?
