PORT JERVIS, N.Y. — Operation Toy Train, organizer of special holiday trains across the U.S. to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots foundation, has announced a 2025 schedule including two new operations.

Trains on the Northern Division of the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway in central New York and the East Penn Railroad in southeastern Pennysylvania will swell the events organized by nonprofit organization TOYX to reach 69 communities in five states. Ten railroads will be involved, with trains operating beginning the weekend of Nov. 15 and including Dec. 14.

The list of dates and communities involved — in California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania — was announced on July 4 and is available here. A final schedule, including exact times, will be released in October.

“This year’s schedule represents the most ambitious expansion of Operation Toy Train in our 17-year history,” TOYX Presidnet Carolyn Hoffman said in a press release. “We’re excited to welcome new communities aboard and continue spreading holiday joy to children and families in need.”

Events collect toys for local chapters of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, with donations staying local to the communities where they are collected. More information is available at the Operation Toy Train website.

  1. As one who has served with the US Marine Corps, I say thank you to all the communities, railroads and volunteers who put this program together. I have donated toys to this program many years. To my fellow Marines, “Semper Fi”.
