“I want to thank the NCFO’s leadership and members for all their hard work during negotiations and for approving this agreement,” Union Pacific CEO Jim Vena said in a press release. “We are a stronger railroad when we work together and focus on providing the safe, reliable service we sold to our customers.”

The two sides had announced a tentative agreement in March, including wage increase, additional vacation time, health and welfare benefits, and minor work-rule changes. ““I want to thank Union Pacific’s Labor Relations and Mechanical teams for their hard work on this agreement,” NCFO President Michael Pistone said at that time. “We need to continue to look at ways to work together, so the NCFO members and Union Pacific can continue to progress into the future.”
