LOS ANGELES — Commuter rail operator Metrolink has named Frank Castellon as its chief safety, security, and compliance officer.

Castellon’s background includes safety and security systems with Portland-area agency TriMet, Valley Metro in Phoenix, LA Metro, and Bombardier Transportation North America. Most recently, he was vice president of environmental, health, safety, and quality for Peak Utility Service Group, a Colorado-based company involved in repair, replacement, maintenance, and installation of telecom, electric power, and natural gas infrastructure.

“The safety of our service is fundamental, and it’s with great regard that we welcome Frank to our leadership team,” Metrolink CEO Darren Kettle said in a press release. “As the backbone of the region’s transportation system across six counties, we look forward to the vision and perspectives Frank will bring to this critical position at Metrolink.”

Castellon is the fourth member of Metrolink’s executive leadership team hired since Kettle became CEO in September 2021, joining Don Fillippi, chief operations officer; Arnold Hackett, chief financial officer; and Paul Hubler, chief strategy officer, who were hired in February.
