ODON, Ind. — The Indiana Rail Road has completed an upgrade to its Odon Transload Facility, adding a 10-inch concrete floor, food-grade railcar dock, and two truck docks.
The improvements support handling and storage of weather-sensitive products such as particleboard, oriented strand board, plywood, and Southern yellow pine lumber at the facility with 9,600 square feet of storage capacity.
“The completion of the Odon Transload Facility allows us to offer a more comprehensive transloading solution to our customers,” Indiana Rail Road CEO Dewayne Swindall said in a press release. “We pride ourselves on providing a superior customer experience, and this upgrade is was critical to support that model.”
Odon is roughly halfway between Indianapolis and Evansville, Ind. It is one of the railroad’s three transload locations, with the others in Indianapolis and Merom, Ind.
