LEBANON, Ohio — The Ohio Rail Experience, the Cincinnati Scenic Railway excursion operation featuring rail lines that do not regularly host passenger trains, has postponed its trips scheduled for this weekend (June 28-29) over concerns about the ongoing heat wave in the Midwest and East.

The predicted high temperatures, “combined with extreme humidity levels, could potentially expose our passengers to an unsafe situation,” the Ohio Rail Experience said in a Facebook post. “The safety of all passnegers and staff is our top priority.”

The organization plans to reschedule the weekend trips — Cincinnati to Greensburg, Ind., and return on Saturday, and two round trips between Cincinnati and Perfect North, Ind., on Sunday — to October 4-5. Passengers who have purchased tickets will be offered a voucher valid through 2026.
