MIAMI — Commuter operator Tri-Rail will discontinue a pair of trains that had been launched as a pilot program to determine demand for late-night operations.
Trains P650 and P651, and their connection trains to downtown’s MiamiCentral station, P650X and P651X, will end on June 30, WTVJ-TV reports. The service was launched in August 2024.
P650 is a midnight departure from the Miami Airport station, with P650X departing Miami Central at 11:45 p.m. P651 departs from Magnonia Park at 9:15 p.m. and arrives at Miami Airport at 11:10 p.m. P651X departs the Metrorail Transfer station at 11:05 p.m. and arrives at MiamiCentral at 11:25 p.m.
At the same time, Tri-Rail will add new MiamiCentral connecting service for trains P617 (an 8:50 a.m. departure from Mangonia Park, arriving at Metrorail transfer at 10:30 a.m.) and P624 (a 12:15 p.m. departure from Miami Airport).
Tri-Rail… A cool commuter rail service with a cool logo.
