LANCASTER, Pa. — Amtrak’s Keystone Service is currently disrupted by flooding, with delays to continue into the evening after some service was suspended between Lancaster, Pa., and Harrisburg, according to the Amtrak NEC social media feed.
Amtrak first reported the problem about 3:50 p.m. ET today (July 14, 2025), reporting that service had been suspended because of water covering the rails between Lancaster and Elizabethtown, Pa., affecting more than a half-dozen trains. As of 5:54 p.m. ET, service had resumed, but the company said trains would experience delays between Lancaster and Elizabethtown because of speed restrictions and inclement weather.
A National Weather Service flood warning remains in effect for the Lancaster area until 9 p.m. ET after 2 to 4 inches of rainfall. WHP-TV in Harrisburg says multiple water rescues have been reported in Lancaster County.
