CAMDEN, N.J. — Five people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after an NJ Transit bus was struck by an NJ Transit RiverLine light rail train today, WKXW Radio reports.
The bus, en route from Atlantic City to Philadelphia, had 50 passengers on board when it was struck by the light rail train about 9:25 a.m. near the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden. No passengers were on the light rail train at the time of the incident. A spokesman for NJ Transit declined to elaborate on circumstances of the collision, citing an ongoing police investigation.
NJ Transit’s RiverLine is a 34-mile, 21-station diesel light rail line running between Camden and Trenton, N.J.
