EAST TROY, Wis. — The East Troy Railroad Museum’s Milwaukee Day, scheduled for June 28, will feature rare displays and trolley rides with equipment directly tied to the Brew City’s past.
Three rarely-seen pieces in the museum’s collection are planned to be brought out of storage for display at the East Troy depot. Chicago North Shore & Milwaukee Merchandise “dispatch” car No. 228 hauled packages, furniture and other freight between Chicago and Milwaukee, and was recently restored. Cars D23 and L8 were from The Milwaukee Electric Railway & Light Co., the former was built in 1907 as a “line” car to work on the overhead 600-volt lines while the latter began life as a snowplow trolley car before eventually being reconfigured for freight service.

Trolley rides from East Troy to the Indianhead Park in Mukwonago, Wis., are scheduled with Chicago North Shore & Milwaukee No. 761 and TMER&L No. 846. Both cars were regulars both out and around the Milwaukee area along their respective railroads. Tickets are $17.00 for adults, $11.00 for children (ages 2 and older), and $14.50 for seniors.
Visit the East Troy Railroad Museum website for more information.
This is a living history museum that helps visitors see and experience what it was like to ride an electric trolley or interurban car 90 to 100 years ago… Awesome experience… Great place for the family & kids to enjoy.
