
LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. — Ted Baun has joined the North American commercial team of The Greenbrier Cos. as senior vice president, and will become chief commercial officer in January 2026, the railcar manufacturer and rail services provider has announced.
Baun will succeed Tim Schitter, retiring at the end of this year, as chief commercial officer.
Baun brings extensive experience in the railcar industry, joining Greenbrier from PNW Railcars, where as chief commercial officer, he oversaw its tank and freight car lfleet and directing railcar leases and renewals. Before that, he spent 23 years at FreightCar America and predecessor Johnstown America, including 11 as chief commercial officer.

Greenbrier builds freight railcars in North America, Europe, and Brazil; provides parts, maintenance, and retrofitting services in North American, and owns a lease fleet of approximately 16,600 railcars. The company also offers railcar management, regulatory compliance services, and leasing services to railroads and other railcar owners.
