NORFOLK, Va. — Amtrak service in and out of Norfolk remains suspended at least through today following the derailment of a Norfolk Southern coal train on Tuesday morning.

Four Amtrak Northeast Regional trains that normally serve Norfolk will operate on modified schedules. Train No. 94 will operate from Richmond, Va., to Boston and train No. 84 will operate from Washington, D.C., to Boston; Train 95 will operate from Boston to Washington, D.C., and train No. 93 will operate from Boston to Richmond.

The NS train derailed early Tuesday morning in Chesapeake, Va. The Virginian-Pilot reports there were no injuries and that the cause is under investigation but offered no other details.
