ORANGE, Calif. — Donna DeMartino has been named managing director of the Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo Rail Corridor Agency, effective Jan. 27.
DeMartino will oversee management and operations of state-supported, Amtrak-operated Pacific Surfliner passenger trains along the LOSSAN corridor. She replaces Jennifer Berenger, who has led the agency since 2012. Berenger has been named as deputy CEO of the Orange County Transportation Authority.
The appointment of DeMartino, most recently CEO of the San Joaquin Regional Transit District, was unanimously approved by LOSSAN’s executive committee. The agency is governed by an 11-member board of officials representing rail owners, operators, and planning agencies along the 351-mile, six-county coastal corridor.
“I am confident Ms. DeMartino will effectively lead the LOSSAN Agency to meet our goals of increasing ridership, enhancing operational flexibility, and ensuring safety for the millions of riders who depend on us each year,” Al Murray, chairman of the LOSSAN Agency, said in a press release.
