CHICAGO — An Amtrak worker has died in an industrial accident at the passenger railroad’s yard south of Chicago Union Station.

CBS-2 Chicago reports that the accident happened on Saturday. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said the worker, whose identity has not been released, died of multiple blunt-force injuries. No other injuries were reported; no other information was immediately available.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the accident occurred about 7:20 p.m. and that the 61-year-old worker, a resident of New Lenox, Ill., was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital at 8:47 p.m. The newspaper quoted Department of Labor spokesman Scott Allen as saying the Occupational Health and Safety Administration is investigating the accident.
