Model Railroader 2025 Calendar
Be inspired all year long with Model Railroader’s all-new 2025 calendar!
Upon further review; you sure you have enough power for the excursion train. Or, is your motive power so unreliable, you needed the second unit?
Thank you fort the great video. I’ve seen lots of pictures of different scenes within the MR&T over the years, but never got to see a video tour. Beautiful layout!
Great video of the MR&T glad to hear the names of the contributors. I remember reading about it as it was built.
Great tour Dana, always good to see a magnificent layout and lab for future work projects.
great video. Love all the subtle details on the layout. Had to watch twice because I missed some of the detail work.
Please lose the background music. It’s very annoying and distracts from what the speaker is saying and the enjoyment of the trains is diminished. I won’t watch these videos with music. I want to concentrate on the speaker and the train sounds.
Thanks for the video. Stay safe in Wisconsin. We are locked down here in south central PA.
Nice! Thanks for sharing. It’s always fun to see the MR&T in action.
Nice tour! I have never visited so that is the first time I really got a comprehensive look at the layout.
I love the layout. It’s great.
Nice video, though I always love the more Pentrex style shots of model layouts, where the camera is stationary, down at Eye Level, and as much of the obvious skyboard, fascia, and valence is out of the shot as pissible. Minor narration, and caption tags set the location, although in this case it was nice hearing about the towns’ histories.
I regret not getting more of the MRT coaches when they were available. I have one in place of the “Lake Pepin” on my recreation of the 261 roster (circa 2016) and she looks nice next to two Rapido sisters as Winonah and Nokamis
Very nice layout. excellent scenery.
I had the pleasure of visiting the MR&T layout several years ago and our tour was conducted by our host Jim Hediger. It’s one thing to see a layout in print, but seeing the MR&T in person was inspiring. Truly a great model railroad which was constructed and detailed with a variety of modeling techniques.
I have since purchased my own MR&T locomotive #1175, a great honor to Andy Sperandeo and his contributions to the hobby.
Thank you Model Railroader magazine.
Finally Part 2. Always good to see the MR&T in action.
1175 is a fitting tribute to Andy he built the MR&T with his bare hands. We all miss him and this engine is perfect for the MR&T Heritage Fleet. RIP Andy.
What’s the name of the music at 5:41?
Excellent – and inspiring! Thank you!
Excellent! Very nice video. Tanks a lot! Congratulations for the 1000th.
Very nicely done! No endless run bys.
A really nice video. Want more… would’ve loved to see the double deck staging area behind the scenes!
man, those trains jumpstarted! (cough cough switcher)
It is a great layout and shows what a dedicated group can accomplish when they have a common purpose. Now please, please run the layout as a cab ride video, so we can see it from the engineer’s viewpoint, please.
Enjoyed the MR&T video tour a lot. There are areas of the backdrop that are quite blank and bland. They beg to be spruced up (pun intended) with photo backdrops. Issue 100 was just excellent!
Really enjoyed the pacing footage – just like chasing a real special! And, I have the same luck you had at Bay Junction, you set up for a nice shot of the executive train blasting out from under the bridge and that pesky W&S local pulls out of the yard blocking the shot! Nice job with the filming. It was nice to hear all those names I grew up with in the pages of MR again.
Nice layout. I noticed that the lighting causes the shadows of trees to reflect onto the backdrop. If you do a re-model, you might want to modify the lighting. Also, there is a spot by a (trestle bridge, I believe) where the wiring is exposed. Otherwise, everything looks terrific!
