2005 is a long time ago in the DCC firmament. Rather than that article, I would direct the gentleman to the TCSDCC.com website for Train Control Systems. They have a wide range of installation guides, using their own products, including installation of their Bachman kits into various production runs of the 2-8-0. As a bonus, their kit of motherboard, decoder and speaker includes Keep-Alive, which greatly improves low speed operation.
