Northeast Corridor testing for Amtrak’s new Acela trainsets continues, with the second of the new trains set for about two weeks of testing on the North end of the corridor, including operation at speeds up to 165 mph on high speed trackage in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.It will also spend time in Boston for maintenance and a shop ergonomic check, Amtrak spokeswoman Beth K. Toll tells Trains News Wire.

  1. What is to become of the current Acela fleet once this fleet enters service? Will they head the way of the Talgo VI? Amtrak has not been from what I have read very vocal about the future of the 20 year old trainsets.
