Mi-Train commuter cars featured on upcoming Michigan excursion NEWSWIRE

HOWELL, Mich. — The Steam Railroading Institute, in partnership with the Great Lakes Central Railroad, will offer hour-long rides Aug. 16-17 during the Howell Melon Festival. The trains will use recently refurbished, bilevel Mi-Train commuter cars slated for use on the proposed “Wally” commuter train between Howell and Ann Arbor.

There will also be a Mi-Train car on display starting on Aug. 15 at 4 p.m. in front of the historic depot and museum. The cars are owned by the Great Lakes Central and are of Chicago, Burlington & Quincy heritage.
