CityNews reports that the fire caused by an e-bike broke out on the first car of a Toronto Transit Commission train at the Sheppard-Yonge station about 3 p.m. The bike was moved onto the station platform, and the station was evacuated. One of those injured was the owner of the e-bike, who suffered injuries including second-degree burns to his hands.

Service on TTC Line 1, the Yonge-University line, was replaced by shuttle buses on the north end of Yonge Street between the Finch and Lawrence stations for about an hour because of the fire.
