  1. Hi. Thoroughly enjoying VideoPLUS but can we have an announcement on the home page please of what's new each week? That would be SO helpful. Thanks!

  2. I think maybe Windows is a problem. I clicked on the double arrow on my iMac and got full screen and full audio. Have they fixed the problem and should you be getting an Apple?

  3. Thanks for that but I think you missed the step on building the base. What were the materials used in construction?

  4. I was as disappointed as MICHAEL HAUSER from AUSTRIA. I used to download the videos from MRR and watch them offline (for my own needs, not to sell them !). The f4f format makes it now impossible. I'm deeply disappointed. I will not renew.

  5. Sadly you changed the video format to f4f, so I can no longer download them for offline viewing while commuting. Besides I avidly collected all the Codys Office episodes and your layout tours – no longer so. This makes me sad and – yes, angry as well. As a long time subscriber I have the feeeling you want to force me (and others as well) to your new video-pay service. Sorry folks, but that is not customer friendly.

  6. I found the video to be very informative and well detailed. I look forward to seeing the next edition to see how it is coming along. I enjoyed the squish method demonstration and explanation of kit building techniques. Thank you.

  7. I understand MRR pushing the video plus and have signed up for it, but I do not think it is fair at all to the magazine subscribers to lose features to try to push them to the added cost feature. Specifically I refer to the lack of volume control now and also the full screen option has dissappeared.

  8. Where is the volume control?
I can see and play Volume 10, but I can't hear what Steve is saying.
Videos from sources other than Kalmbach work fine.

  9. Pulling the full screen option off and making part of the "Pay" version is what, an April Fool's" Joke? Aside from that, good info and video presentation.

  10. frankly, i'm aggravated as hell. my videos are telling me that the 'video is not encrypted for my device.' then when i do the troubleshoot, i find that the testing software can't find windows media player. i have windows 7 and it came with windows media player. i've downloaded the latest version and i still can't watch a video on model railroader video plus. what's the point of signing up for it? i've never had a problem watching videos linked from the newsletter, and now i can't even go back and watch those.
i'm thinking about getting a refund. this kinda sucks, since watching video is the whole point of the new website. i emailed kalmbach customer service yesterday and no one bothered to reply to it.

  11. Dear Mr. Pravlik,

The only browser that still uses Flash is Firefox. All others are HTML5, so if you try running the videos on Safari, Explorer, or Chrome, you'll probably have a much better experience. Sorry for the frustration, but I urge you to give it another shot.

    Best wishes,

    David

  12. After two days, I'm giving up. I keep getting the message that I need adobe flash player EVEN AFTER I DOWNLOADED THE LATEST VERSION. I'm absolutely sick of having to update constantly, and updates generally not working. I'm a model railroader, NOT a computer hobbiest!

  13. I have been able to view at 'full screen' on my Win7 laptop. I have noticed when viewing in the evening that the audio does get out of sync – The server is not keeping up?
Also, at times I get 'your device cannot encode..' or something like that. Usually restarting will resolve this – The material is put together well – We just need the 'power' to handle the viewing requests.

    Jim

  14. Very informative and helpful.

Would've preferred to be able to get full screen! Disappointing
    in that regard.
    Darren Wallage from South Australia

  15. Making full screen capabilities part of the new Video Plus Subscription only is not going to win over many fans when we've had that option all along. Sorry guys, but I think you're blowing it from that aspect.

  16. I ahve to agree with the above. While the video is very informative, the new format, IE plug in is very poor. There is no full screen option and you can no longer skip through the video or go back and re watch a section if you miss something. It seems that you need to replay it. While I did follow the link for MR Video Plus as suggested, I must admit that I did not initially as I am not a video Plus subscriber and assumed that I would not have access. I think this new format is a step backwards. Please bring back the old one.

  17. Not sure where MR is heading, we now have Model Railroader Video Plus and it appears to me that this will be in competition to MR magazine, so one has to wonder if the magazine will still carry informative articles or will it direct you to MR VP to see the article??? Just thinking out loud and wondering where it is all going.
