Good work Eric. If you want your sheet metal buildings to look aged add some rust.
Thanks Eric, you’re a great modeler. Do you have any photos from the desert area that you used as a prototype and reference for painting these patterns? Agree with James that it seems too repetitive, but if the photo proves it, I’m convinced. I ask that as I have the same problem in my weathering seems too repetitive.
Great episode Eric. I like the mask idea for simulating the corrugated metal sheet edges when weathering. Wonder if scribing the plastic lightly with a Matt knife would emphasize the panels also. Thanks for the video, looking forward to the rest of the process. Thanks.
Same question – found David’s video on weathering – http://mrv.trains.com/how-to/painting/2013/08/thin-branch-series-weathering-corrugated-metal-structures-with-an-airbrush
I’m not convinced that the light grey defining individual panels is realistic. It looks too repetitive. Even with the black shadows and over all white it just doesn’t look right to me.
Interesting that you chose and external mix air brush.
Thanks, Eric, for that tip. I remember once building a Suydam metal kit. I got called away before I could wash the flux off. When I came back, the building had a very interesting rust pattern.
Eric you mentioned that David had a weathering video earlier on weathering corrugated metal which one is it? I liked this one too!! Thanks and keep up the great work!!!
