Host Steve Brown has just a bit of a surprise in store. In this episode you’ll be the first to see It’s My Revised Railroad revealed! Right in the middle of his Star Industries project effort, our “regular guy” has done something very much out of the ordinary. Steve shares his efforts to redirect and rebuild his double-deck N scale layout into something much simpler. After explaning his motivations for change, Steve then examines how the new line will impact the placement and construction of the emerging rail-served industry.

It’s My Railroad host Steve Brown states he’s a “regular-guy” model railroader, but his extraordinarily enthusiastic approach to building an N scale (1:160) layout certainly sets him apart! Only on Trains.com will you find exclusive episodes of Steve’s popular YouTube series, where he covers any number of topics related to his efforts in planning, constructing, and modeling his Brown-Smith Railroad.

  1. Nice look anew!
I often will use silicone rubber (clear) to glue on roofing materials. Not only does it stick better than many things, it also has more working time.
Spread it out with a flat brush then apply the roof.
When adding accents to the cooling tower. Wouldn’t there be openings on the sides to allow air flow. You might try a bit of black or dark grey ink applied with a Radiograph pen. For N scale a 0000/.18mm size or 000/.25mm should work perfectly.
    Keep up the interesting series!

  2. I guess spring cleaning means cleaning out one railroad to build another. I just got done disassembling my HO layout as well and am working on a new design. Mine had some long reaches that just didn’t work out. So back to the drawing board.

  3. Track plan for us to see the complete layout and how many trains are you running on your new layout and Is each line independent. Will this new layout be published in MR ?

  4. I like you approach to the cooling tower, but you’re missing an important detail on the roof of it – one or more fans to draw air the the fins. Just something to consider. I do like how you have simplified the layout design.
