Midday Modeler — 08-17-2022 — Join the crew of Model Railroader for more adventures in model railroading!

Midday Modeler is a new, regular video segment, recorded live and unscripted from Kalmbach Media beginning in February 2022.

The segment features Kalmbach Media staff modeling and talking about model railroads in a casual format. It is unscripted and presented live via Facebook on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. Central time each week. Anyone who sees the video on Facebook can comment and ask questions, or just say “hi!”

Shortly after the Facebook live stream, the Midday Modeler — 08-17-2022 video is taken down from Facebook and posted to Trains.com where it is available only to Model Railroader Video Plus members and Trains.com Unlimited Members.

  1. The real trick of a plastics drill bit is that the cutting face of the bit is ground flat and essentially scrapes the plastic rather than digging into it like a typical bit where the cutting tip is angled.

  2. please put mics on the presenters this entire video was impossibe to hear what Cody and Erick was saying because they talk softly and were not looking toward the camera most of the time. I had both my computer volume and your video volume maxed up.

    Always enjoy your programming and insights into model railroading. I am finally beginning to restart my hobby after a 50 year hiatus and you are an inspiration for me to get cracking on it.

    For us older modelers, could you perhaps use a remote mike so we can hear you more clearly?

  4. I bought one 4×8 sheet of .040 styrene in the mid-1990s to use for modeling projects. I still have about 2×2 left.
