Midday Modeler — 07-20-2022 — this week is an action-packed episode hosted by Cody Grivno. It was our DEMO DAY!

Yes, in this episode Cody leads a cast of guest stars in showing off methods, tools, and models for model railroading.

Midday Modeler is a new, regular video segment, recorded live and unscripted from Kalmbach Media beginning in February 2022.

The segment features Kalmbach Media staff modeling and talking about model railroads in a casual format. It is unscripted and presented live via Facebook on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. Central time each week. Anyone who sees the video on Facebook can comment and ask questions, or just say “hi!”

Shortly after the Facebook live stream, the Midday Modeler — 07-20-2022 video is taken down from Facebook and posted to Trains.com where it is available only to Model Railroader Video Plus members and Trains.com Unlimited Members.

  1. I’d like to see Cody do a complete weathering, replace Trucks and Couplers and paint wheels etc… In other words do a complete new car being placed on a Layout, finished. Doesn’t matter what scale just do a complete job!

  2. Why has Midday Modeler insisted on not using Mics for sound? Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t!

  3. Is there a “rule of thumb” on which lettering removal technique works best with which type of original lettering, or which manufacturers? I’m guessing there is no difference for working on N scale equipment?

Because of where I work I am unable to join the Facebook live broadcast, so I hope you also count the views on trains.com to determine the success of these efforts. I really enjoy them.

  4. Follow Up to removing lettering. How about a clinic on removing paint using various methods of removal?

  5. Leo Campbell, founder of Campbell Models passed away some years ago. I don’t know the current status of the company.
