Model Railroader 2026 Calendar
Don't miss Model Railroader’s all-new 2026 calendar, featuring Rod Stewart's spectacular layout!
the layout is complete all that needs to be done is hook them up and run a train.
The modules all look great and as mentioned, T-Trak is a great way for folks working in larger scales to get their feet wet in N scale, without having to build an entire layout. The one thing I did notice, only Pelle painted the sides of the rails, which add even more realism to the Kato Uni-track. This was a great series loaded with a lot of good ideas.
Way to go LEGO! Good job Kent and well done all! Looks like it was fun.
I truly enjoyed all of the work done on the T-Trak models, but the only problem I had was with Ben's golf course scene. Having worked on a golf course for more than 10 years, if I were the greens superintendent I would have been fired to let the green die like that!
Great project all did a fine job on their unit, any chance MR will do more N-scale projects either in video or the magazine.
Great rundown on the individual modules, can't wait to see trains running on them.
Left me with a big smile and some nice warm feelings on this winter day…. showed me that small is good and focus on the detail… Great to meet the most the staff all at once….
thanks
Stellar work al around! They look great and can't wait to see trains running on the "layout".
The series reminds me of a challenge by Linn Westcott in one of his "At the Throttle" columns back in the early 1960's. It was titled "This Could Be Your Layout." He was describing the next few pages that featured the Gorre & Daphetid. However, one of his last statements was that we as modelers should try to do at least one square foot of our layouts in the best detail possible, just to show we can do it. When I saw these completed T-Trak modules, Linn's challenge came to mind.
Question: Was David Popp the only participant with N scale experience?
Truthfully, I had my doubts when this project was announced, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hats off to all the participants modeling some area from their hometown. I can identify with modeling what we've seen on the railroad, how they deal with erosion, drainage, careless with the junk they leave behind and not wasting time on something that doesn't generate revenue. I agree with Mike, this needs to be displayed at Trainfest 2016.
This have been a very fun series to watch, with a number of staff getting involved who are usually behind the scenes. Was impressed that by modeling the mundane, Pelle's work seems even more realistic. Would be cool to see the modules at Trainfest this year!
A great job done by all, can't wait to see trains run. Very well done.
For so long, I have watched many videos on the projects from MR. This is the best I've seen thus far. The most impressive were the comments made by many of the participants. It seems as if it has inspired them to do more projects in "N-SCALE". I visited Broadway Limited International yesterday and surprisingly, I overheard one of the employees speaking to another gentleman that N-scale has gained more in popularity. The T-Trak project was excellent. Thanks David and participants.
Well done, everyone. Those modules all look fantastic. I can't wait to see them together and running.
Kent, where can I find info/photos on the prototype for those "Lego" blocks? Thanks.
This is a superb series. Well done y'all and looking forward to seeing the trains a runnin'!
WOW!! This is Soooo Coool!! Thanks to everyone who contributed modules I look forward to seeing some trains run on these – please explain how you hook them up, !
Completely amazing. GREAT presentation. I agree, everyone did a fantastic job. My favourite part of being a MR subscriber is MRVP.
Drew, have you thought about maybe doing a "how to" article in MR magazine on those terrific looking N- scale palm trees 🙂 PS. David, great idea on this I think ! 🙂
Pelles module show that less can be more. Looking very forward to an article or series on Kents method for sculpting rocks.
Great job everybody.
Amazing work everyone. If you are looking for votes on the best module, my vote is for the Elkins Park module. I can't wait to see the operation video.
great series
I could just say WOW for each of the modules that you guys modeled, they are each in their own way special, but seriously that is some first class modeling by each member of the team……..bravo MRVP. Can't wait to see trains running on them, but which railroads will be displayed by the locos and cars?
Great project to showcase what can be accomplished in n scale.
