The final scenery and details are starting to take shape on the Model Railroader Bay Junction project layout. Associate editor Cody Grivno describes some of the scene that he’s been working on around the grain elevator, while associate editor Steve Otte adds the last road signs and other details to Williams Bay. You’ll also see associate editor Kent Johnson adding a highway bridge over the Wisconsin & Southern (WSOR) interchange yard.

  1. Bay Junction Layout is almost done only thing missing is Kelly's Appliances and the fertilizer plant

  2. Help: Bay Junction Crew: In the April 2011 issue, Jim Hediger kitbashed Kelly Appliance from two Twalthers machine shop kits 933-2902. I am trying to apply the same angled industry in N-scale. Jim, any suggestions as to kits to kitbash for N-scale to achieve the same effect. I really want to add this same concept to my N scale layout. Actually, the HO scale kits are only 5-1/2 inches tall except for the smoke stack and High Bay. The problem in conversion to N-scale is also the door sizes, etc. Any help would be appreciated. 3. Nice Layout. What do you do with this layout when you are complete? Do you tear it down and build another?

  4. I have to agree, after seeing the work that you all have put into building the layout, seeing the mainline operation including setouts and the various industries being switched as discussed in the latest issue would make for a great end to the series.
    Keep up the good work.

  5. David, well a few minutes while on a break, great video everything looks like rolling as planned. All the staff put together alot of nice details and structures. Maybe we could see a video on switching the bay junction section of the layout. The signals in action as well, again a job well executed done very well.

  6. The Videos are one of the Best parts of MR. It would be nice if the videos were a little longer nd in 720 or 1080 HD
