Hello There.
As i was watching on telephone poles for N scale is 80' on center or in this case 6 inches on center that i got. so for HO that would be 180' on center with a 12 inches on center dose that sound right?

David shows how to paint the insulators green but what if someone prefers clear insulators (surely not I)? What color would be used then?

Wouldn't it make the job a little easier if you snapped the bases of the telephone poles after you painted them? It seems like the base would make it easier to hold the pole, plus allow both sides to dry without touching your work surface.
To JOHN CARTWRIGHT from WISCONSIN, if someone prefers clear insulators: paint the insulators silver to reflect the likeness of glass.
Also as a side note, some insulators are chipped and worn-out and the glass is not as opaque in these areas. What to do for added
detail is to paint a (few) of them white, or a blend of silver and white gloss. It really makes the poles come alive! The most bang
for the buck too.
