Beginning in the January 2011 issue you’ll see the latest Model Railroader project layout, the HO scale Bay Junction on the Milwaukee, Racine & Troy. We built this modern junction town as part of our MR&T club layout, but we’ll show you how you can build the railroad as a standalone island or shelf layout.
Managing editor David Popp kept a video journal while we built the layout last winter. For the next several months you can follow along as the Model Railroad staff builds the layout from benchwork to final scenery. You’ll also see member of the staff working on structures and other projects in the Model Railroader workshop. We hope you enjoy your first look at Bay Junction.
[comment from three weeks ago edited] good old Bay Junction Layout back in the day when it was just a blueprint things have changed since 2010 1. Odegard Shipping has moved out of Bay Junction and has their factory in Mukwonago their spot belongs to Kelly Appliances. 2. the Propane Plant has also moved they are now in Troy their spot and the factory are now United Cooperative Complex. 3. the old passenger car that was the station has been replaced by Corn Products and Bay Junction has a new station at CP Williams Bay 4. the buildings that were where United Cooperative is have been moved and are now Kelly Appliances. 5. and last but not least MR&T has adopted Positive Train Control and all tracks and signals have been replaced and installed.

Awesome as usual. I probably won't replicate this, however the inspiration it gives me is most welcome. Maybe, when this phase is done, we see more waterfront, and inner city switching scenarios.

Using the latest technology to not only talk about but also show us ''how" is exciting. A whole new perspective for us arm-chair modelers!
Excellent start. I'm looking forward to following this and picking up some tips along the way.
