The Broadway Limited Imports N scale EMD F3 decorated in Chesapeake & Ohio colors recently powered an excursion train over our Milwaukee, Racine & Troy State Line Route. In addition to C&O (A unit only), the Broadway Limited N scale EMD F3 is decorated for Atlantic Coast Line (purple and silver, single A and B units and A/B set); Clinchfield (restored gray-and-yellow scheme, A unit only); Electro-Motive Division (demonstrator scheme, A unit and A/B set); Delaware, Lackawanna & Western (modern appearance, A unit only); Gulf, Mobile & Ohio (maroon and imitation gold, A unit and A/B set); and Seaboard Air Line (as-delivered scheme, A unit only).
The N scale EMD F3 features an ABS body, die-cast metal chassis, dual-mode decoder with back electro-motive-force control, and all-wheel electrical pickup. Road-specific details include number board style, water and sand fill hatch location, and air horn. The cab unit is equipped with Micro-Trains compatible couplers and will operate on codes 55, 70, and 80 rail. The F3 has a minimum operating radius of 9”.
Stealth series (non-sound) A and B units are priced at $179.99 each. Models with a dual-mode Paragon4 sound decoder retail for $249.99 each (A and B units) and $329.99 (powered A unit and unpowered B unit).
