Titans of Steel, a collectible trading card series honoring the legacy of railroading, was unveiled by Wm. K. Walthers Inc. during the National Train Show in Novi, Mich., in July 2025.

“This is a celebration of the railroads that connected a nation and powered America’s growth,” said Travis Goodwin, senior manager of product and brand management at Walthers. “We’ve fused rich railroad history with the excitement of modern collecting to bring something entirely new to the hobby.”

The inaugural set features 56 Series One common cards, including historic locomotives, freight and passenger cars, as well as iconic landmarks and trailblazers who forged the railroad industry. The cards feature a photo on the front and notable facts on the back.

In addition, three levels of rare cards are being offered. Chase cards with foil and holographic treatment are available in limited quantities.

There are also nine wildcards. These special, double-sided cards feature a unique model train car on one side and a puzzle piece on the reverse. The cards can be collected to complete a stunning scene, or they can be linked together to form a noteworthy and collectible consist.

Rounding out the product range is a Golden Spike card. Only a single copy exists, making it a true one-of-one collectible.

Titans of Steel trading cards are available as individual foil packs of 10 (eight common cards, one wildcard, and one random rare chase card) and complete box sets of all 56 Series One common cards. The collectible cards can be found at participating dealers and online at walthers.com.
