For many years Hobbyshop Window was a popular department in the pages of Model Railroader magazine. We’re excited to bring it back as a frequent feature on Trains.com. HO scale Evans 4,780-cubic-foot capacity three-bay covered hopper. This WalthersProto model is back in new road numbers and paint schemes. New numbers are offered on models decorated for Louis Dreyfus Corp., ADM Milling Co., and FMC Chemicals. New paint schemes on the HO scale car include Armstrong, Aurora (Neb.) Co-op Elevator Co., Clay Center (Neb.) Co-op Grain Co., Greenwood (Neb.) Farmers Co-op, and Hampton (Neb.) Co-op Elevator Co. The model, offered in four road numbers per scheme, features see-through, etched-metal running boards and crossover platforms; 36” metal wheelsets; and body-mounted Proto-Max metal couplers. HO scale Greenbrier 89-foot TTX 110-ton flatcar. Road names on this WalthersProto model include TTX Co. (XTTX and TPDX reporting marks), Arkansas-Oklahoma RR, and Lake Michigan & Indiana RR. The HO scale flatcar is available in three to six road numbers per scheme and has dual tie-down chain channels on the deck; positionable, covered container pedestals; separately applied, non-working cable straps and strap brackets; wire grab irons; and Proto-Max metal couplers. HO scale General Electric ES44AC diesel locomotive. This modern six-axle unit is decorated for Florida East Coast (Grupo Mexico scheme), CSX (Atlantic Coast Line, Chesapeake & Ohio, and Chessie System heritage schemes and Spirit of West Springfield), and Iowa Interstate (30th anniversary Rock Island scheme). The HO scale model is offered in one to two road numbers per scheme. Product features on the ES44AC include an ABS body, die-cast metal chassis, individually controllable lights, and metal knuckle couplers. Direct-current models with a factory-installed speaker retail for $259.99. Versions with a dual-mode Paragon4 sound decoder are priced at $379.99. N scale Pennsylvania RR 4-8-2 steam locomotive. Broadway Limited Imports offers this model decorated for Pennsylvania RR (class M1a and M1b in two to three road numbers each and class M1b in fictional Dark Green Locomotive Enamel and Tuscan Red schemes). The N scale Mountain-type steam locomotive is also available in as-built paint but unlettered. Features on the 4-8-2 include a die-cast metal body and chassis; factory-applied grab irons, handrails, ladders, piping, and whistle; and plastic knuckle couplers. The model has a minimum operating radius of 9.75”. Direct-current models with a factory-installed speaker sell for $299.99. Versions with a dual-mode Paragon4 sound decoder are priced at $399.99. HO scale Greenbrier 7,780-cubic-foot capacity refrigerator car. This contemporary freight car from Rapido Trains is decorated for Lineage (2022+), Cryo-Trans (orange ends [2006+] and yellow ends [2013+]), Greenbrier Management Services (AOKX reporting marks, 2024+), Ontario Northland (2023+ [single car and three-pack]), and Union Pacific (ARMN reporting marks, 2013+ and 2015+). The HO scale model is also available painted white with yellow ends and data only (single car only). The Greenbrier 7780 refrigerator car has prototype-specific details, metal grab irons and railings, a detailed underframe, and metal knuckle couplers.
