  1. Great article, about a modest sized ‘modular layout,’ using the All*Aboard American Flyer components. When these came out in the 60’s and were still advertised, I remember seeing them, and immediately liking the concept, as ‘the scenery was built in. It wasn’t just sections of track, with no scenery. At the time, my parents had gotten me a ‘scout set,’ 1-2 years prior, with no scenery, but my parents weren’t in favor of making the switch. I think this kind of layout is what the company and designers had in mind with these pieces. I also like the direction that Jon says he plans to go with another section with industries, etc……. Cann’t wait to see an update, in the future.
