The concrete west portal of Erie’s Otisville (N.Y.) tunnel — from which a Berkshire-powered freight emerges — is fairly simple, but with pilasters and the inscription “19–OTISVILLE–08” in embossed lettering overhead.   1. Let’s add that the 117-year-old tunnel passes underneath the Shawangunk Ridge at Otisville, New York, just past Otisville station on the Metro-North Port Jervis Line.
