Model Railroader 2026 Calendar
Don't miss Model Railroader’s all-new 2026 calendar, featuring Rod Stewart's spectacular layout!
Gerry if you should decide to do another instrumental think about doing one on printing. This phase continues to elude my comprehension.
Very cool Gerry. IF I ever do an expansion to my current layout into an adjoining room, I am going to use this tool first to see what I can and ‘should not’ do. Should be a time saver for me. Looking forward to the next segment.
I used 3rd Planet to design my layout. This program is great!! You can just draw the circles in the corners and connect the them with easements. For me, it was easier then adding the straight track. Eventually my design was what I wanted. I printed it “1:1”; traced it on my base layer (foam), glued the subroad bed, nailed the track. I was amazed how well this works. Gary, I agree with the previous comment… this needs to be more than the three series.
Thanks
Gerry, this series is fantastic. I use CAD software for work and the program you are teaching is awesome. I am really enjoying this.
Please, oh please, more. These are so helpful in penetrating the mysteries of CAD and track planning. What is obvious now that I have see Gerry strut his stuff was monumentally less obvious before. Thank you so much.
Aw shucks! Only three parts to this!
Bet you could probably do more.
Oh, I’ll give it a shot. Should be an improvement over the old, old Atlas software I got years ago.
Another great video Mr. Leone. For future consideration perhaps show us how best to create complex
track work such as placing switches, crossovers, etc. Also a video on scaling and placement of scenery
would be nice as well. Thanks.
Gerry, thanks. This is an interesting series. I looked at a “track planner” years ago and it was such a hassle that I went back to drawing with a pencil and template. This system looks like it would be fun to “play with” in trying new ideas or track arrangements. Looking forward to the next part.
