I need one more Tank on my layout and this looks like how I’m going to get one. Did the second installment ever happen? Thanks, great Video, Steven!
the tank is great but you did not say the size of the tank boards.
it is the right size for my layout.
my e-mail is dancing-bill@hotmail.com
thanks for any help.
Cody. As always you make easy to build, paint etc. I have a question. There is always a water tower in a remote area. How were these tanks filled??
Hi Steve
I really enjoyed watching your great skills at work. I have never had the coverage to try to scrap build anything. You make this project look so easy that I'm going to try. I can only hope mine comes out half as good as yours. You did a great job explaining and showing every detail and how easy it really can be completed. Keep up the great work, thanks
Hi Steve,
Thank you so much for showing us around the office on Friday! (Sorry I don't know a better way to contact you.) If we seemed a little spaced out, it's because we drove seven hours straight to get there. We all loved meeting you and the others and seeing the offices, workshop, and layouts. I suspect little Henry will be talking about this for months!
I should have said that I've enjoyed your articles and particularly these water tower videos. It's a gorgeous model, and I would never have dreamed I might be able to do something like that from scratch, but your videos make it seem like a reasonable project to try some time.
All the best,
Sol, Jen, and Henry
WOW, Steve I'm impressed with your model making skills. Very well done!
Please keep up the good work and don't stop here … Go on to another model!
Really liked the explanation of the banding around the tank. Nice tip from the jewelry makers.
A great "how-to" start for an interesting foreground structure. It reminds me of the great step-by-step "how-to" articles of a bygone era of MR. Please keep them coming!
Another "How To keeper though I must have missed something on determining the length of base of each wedge.
Excellent, many good scratchbuilding tips.
Just as I have said to Cody a couple of times, get your fingernails taken care of before you shoot a video.
Steve, nice demonstration. Look forward to future videos. This is a great service, especially to us rookie modelers. Thanks.
Very good!
Looking great Steve! I can't wait to see part 2.
Happen to just finish a scratch built tank thats real similar to yours. Starting another one with a open top and water. Any advice, know you've done it.
Thomas and Spencer, the sheathing is HO scale 2 x 6 planks. All that information is covered in the Step By Step article in the August 2013 issue of Model Railroader.
Can you give sizes for the strip wood used o n the tank and support structure ? Thanks
What are the dimensions of the strip wood for the tank?
