In this all-new MRVP series, watch and learn as David Popp walks you through, step-by-step, the full sequence for installing Digital Command Control on a large model railroad. To get things started, David first provides a quick overview of DCC starter systems, and then he gets to work adding a DCC power bus line under MR’s recently updated HO scale Beer Line project layout.

  1. David, what is your rule regarding twisting the bus wires? The size of the Beer Line probably means that you don’t need to twist the bus wires, but for a larger layout, with runs up to, say, 40 feet, I think it is a good idea to twist them. NCE recommends that, but I’m curious about whether you did that on any of your layouts.

  2. Thank you, David. I am going to use NCE to operate my around-the-walls HO scale layout. This was very helpful.
