On step 5, do I hold "start-up" for the 20 seconds or until I hear the voice? Not clear if just press or hold a command button for that long. Very helpful and I will use this. Need more examples like this. Train store should have shared this as I would be "down the road" on using Legacy.
GREAT DEMO! Overall very realistic and professional. Keep up the good work Kent.
Nice job keep up the good work
Great detail and even exhaust at start up. I agree, street detailing, especially the drains, were great. Wonderful job. Thanks Classic Trains for bringing it to us.
The only thing I noticed that could be even better is if the voices had a more canadian accent. Over and oot.
Keen observation, William F. The curb and gutter arrangement is a foam-based product that Scenic Express distributed several years ago. Apparently the manufacturer’s tooling failed, so there isn’t much hope of seeing it available again. Without giving too much away, my Tips, Tools, & Techniques column in the December 2010 issue of CTT shows what I used as an alternative – it measures up to the test! — Kent
Great and enjoyed the demo , great detailing on the layout
I run my 9860 on my mainline with a 30 car consist. Really true to life experience. Sound and crew talk very realistic. Visitors are amaze by the performance of my 9860. Well done Lionel
Like Richards said where is the "learning part?"
Thanks for your kind remarks, Richard H. With the exception of my RCS turnouts, I paint the sides of my GarGraves track using Floquil no. 3801 Track Weathering Markers – Rail Brown is my preferred color. On seldom-used yard tracks, I’ve also had my son use cotton swabs to add dabs/streaks of rust-colored paint along the rail web.
Sorry for any confusion, Richard B. The video is strictly intended to demonstrate the results of the procedures documented in the printed CTT feature (November 2011, page 72).
The video was very good but where was the Teaching part? To me the voices were too loud as you could hear the engines nsouhd (that is the only thing diesels have )
Killer sounds on that bad boy!
Not to detract from that impressive locomotive, but just look at the curbs and drain "openings" alongside the street! Kent, how about a "how to" article on constructing those?
Sounds great
Cool video. Looking forward to getting one of those locos. I liked the surburban speeding down the street next to the track.
The video was entertaining, but where was the 'learn how to use command-control features' that was mentioned in the lead-in?
Impressive with good sounds.
Kent,
Very realistic and smooth acceleration. Looks great with the backround buildings. By the way, what kind of switch throws are you using on the turnouts and how did you paint the track?
