Scranton, PA will host the 55th annual Lionel Collectors Club of America’s Convention & Toy Train Show. From July 20 to 26, 2025, train enthusiasts will pour into the Electric City to delight in the magic of railroad history in a city that was built on trains.

Curt Camoni, the Executive Director of the Lackawanna County Visitors Bureau shares his excitement, “We are so proud to have been selected as the location for this year’s Lionel Convention. We believe we are a great fit for them and that Lackawanna County is an amazing site for conferences and conventions in general.”

Each convention includes seminars on Lionel trains, junior member activities for children, and multiple receptions and meet-and-greets. Members have planned to visit major attractions in Lackawanna County, including Steamtown National Historic Site, the Electric City Trolley Museum, the Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour, Anthracite Heritage Museum, Everhart Museum, and many more!

On Saturday, July 26 from 9: a.m.-3 p.m., the members of the Lionel Collector’s Club would like to extend a special invitation to the public to visit the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel and the Hilton Scranton & Conference Center to enjoy free entrance to their tradeshow/swap meeting.

“We encourage the train-loving public to come to the convention on Saturday and see modular train layouts running, attend the model train show/ swap meet, and meet people from the LCCA and Lionel Trains. It will be a very special opportunity for train fans, and it is all free to the public. Bring the whole family,” stated the Club President, Mark Kempfer.

Vendors with the tradeshow will be stationed at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, while the train layouts will be featured at the Hilton Scranton & Conference Center.

The LCCA will also have membership applications available during their tradeshow on Saturday; all new members will receive a badge to use as a “ticket” for the Steamtown Scranton Limited yard excursions that day.

  1. A great summit – organized at the right time and in the right place – that should not be missed by those interested.
