The Baldwin VO-1000 diesel switcher joins the Master Line in Lehigh Valley, Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis; Rock Island, Southern Pacific, Santa Fe and Western Pacific road names. The Alco RS-11 is joining the Trainman line in Burlington Northern, Delaware & Hudson, Duluth, Winnipeg & Pacific; Maine Central, Penn Central, ad Southern Pacific road names. Both models have Electric RR Co. “Cruise Commander technology,” smoke unit, and an improved RailSounds system. The models have two motors, crewmen, and a die-cast metal chassis.
