The Lionel Kid’s Club by Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2026.
According to the Kid’s Club Coordinator Patrick Cudzilo, “Our Kid’s Club is focused on keeping today’s youth involved in the model train hobby for years to come. They are the future of the hobby.”
Founded in 2011, the club provides Junior Members (defined as ages 18 or younger) with model train-related activities and materials. The Lionel Kid’s Club by LCCA provides members with five issues per year of the LCCA’s The Lion Roars magazines, the Lion Club magazine, free issues of the annual Lionel product catalogs, and special activities at the LCCA national convention each year.
Kid’s Club members are encouraged to write for LCCA publications. In fact, many of the club’s Junior Members have articles published in the Lion Club and The Lion Roars.
LCCA created a special logo to mark the Kid’s Club anniversary featuring Lionel’s Lenny the Lion, and plans other special items for the Junior Members. The Kid’s Club plans to provide special activities and memorabilia for LCCA Junior Members all year to continue their involvement and generate additional memberships.
“We are going to make this Kid’s Club anniversary last all year for existing members and encourage new members to join and enjoy the fun of model trains. Many Junior Members joined after hearing about LCCA at train shows around the country, and others have gotten involved by running their trains with their parents and grandparents,” said Cudzilo.
The LCCA was founded 55 years ago near Omaha, Neb., and now has thousands of members across the United States, Canada, and other countries around the world.
