In the fall, it seems all I do is remove leaf debris from trestles.

If you have trestles on your railroad, you have probably noticed how they can become excellent leaf traps. Most of my main line is located under trees, and as a result I get piles of leaves. Often, I need to use a leaf blower to remove them before I can run a train. Sometimes I need to remove the leaves by hand, which is time consuming.

I have noticed that the trestles that have an opening, to let either a river, dry wash, or a road through, is a lot easier to blow out the leaves and/or remove leaf debris from trestles.

When constructing a trestle, I suggest either eliminating a bent or create an opening to blow leaves through (see the trestle in the back in the photo above). Cleanup will be so much easier.
